Man killed after being struck by train

A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Trains were cancelled between Rugeley and Lichfield this morning and London Midland said the disruption was likely to last until around 11am.

All services that would normally run between Rugeley Trent Valley and Lichfield Trent Valley were affected.
