Staff at Happy Days Nursery, based along Hagley Road West, decided to raise the spirits of residents at the nearby William Lench Court by delivering springtime daffodils.

They also plan to take part in a sponsored walk around a circuit route to raise money for Marie Curie and to remember Captain Sir Tom Moore.

Rachel Jarrett, the 31-year-old nursery manager, said: “We cater for up to 54 children aged from three-months-old to five-years-old on a daily basis and have about 16 staff.

“We will all be taking part in the walk on March 23 in memory of all the loved ones who have been lost throughout the pandemic.

"The children will be wearing red, white and blue as a colour theme and walking in memory of Sir Captain Tom Moore. We hope to raise as much as £500 through sponsorship.

“We will also be delivering daffodils to the nearby William Lench Court to spread some much-needed cheer among the community.

“Residents will wave to the children as we take part in the walk.”
