St Dominic’s Grammar School, in Brewood, is calling on students, staff and parents to walk, run, cycle or swim the 100 miles before the summer.

All money raised will go to St Giles Hospice, in Lichfield, and to create a lasting memorial to Mrs Kate Lander, a teacher who passed away last term.

Those taking part in the St Dominic’s Centenary Lander Charity Challenge can log their miles on a special app and are being asked to take pictures of their fundraising efforts which will be uploaded onto the school’s Facebook page.

Peter McNabb, headteacher, said: “It is hoped that we will raise £10,000 with the money going to St Giles Hospice, Mrs Lander’s favourite charity, and towards a lasting memorial to her within our centenary garden.”
