Pawpounders dog day care from Sutton Coldfield worked with pupils from Coppice Primary School in Mere Green to create unique pieces of artwork using inspiring words of hope on small rocks.

The children delivered the rocks back to the company on Camp Road just before lockdown, with moving and inspiring words that will help the region’s dog owners to think positively.

The children used words such as “love”, “have courage”, “positivity”, “have faith”, “hope” and “better times” on their rocks.

The rocks will be placed in the company’s Pounders Park facility, a private off-lead dog walking park where customers will be able to discover the rocks as they walk around.

Nick Parkinson, founder of Pawpounders, said the company had wanted to spread hope and goodwill and came up with the rocks idea.

Inspire

He said: “For many people, we know that walking is a time for reflection and thought and sometimes even a bit of therapy.

“We hope our rocks will inspire and encourage our customers to think of better times ahead, all thanks to the children.”

Marcia Ramsay, teacher at Coppice Primary School, said: “We were so happy that we were given the opportunity to help and take on such a lovely project.

“We really enjoyed decorating our ‘hope rocks’ and it was fun and encouraged our children to think about the messages.

“We hope that the rocks will put a smile on customers faces when they visit.”
