Man stabbed at Lichfield City Station

A man was stabbed at Lichfield City Station last night.

A man was stabbed at Lichfield City Station on Wedinesday evening.

Police were called to the station on Birmingham Road at around 9.18pm following reports of the incident.

Half an hour later, about a mile away on Meadowbrook Road, West Midlands Ambulance staff treated a man who was reported to have been stabbed.

Nobody has been arrested over the attack.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 9.50pm on Wednesday to reports of a stabbing at Meadowbrook Road, Lichfield.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a man with a serious injury and he was conveyed to hospital on blue lights and sirens for further treatment."

Ambulance crews treated a man in Meadowbrook Road.

Officers from WMAS did not attend Lichfield City Station where train services had been cancelled.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called to Lichfield City station at 9.18pm yesterday following reports of a stabbing.

"A young man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening or life-changing.

"Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 534 of 01/09/21."
