Murder probe launched after man, 26, dies in Birmingham

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found fatally wounded in Birmingham this morning.

The 26-year-old man was found with a serious injury in Shyltons Croft, Ladywood, just before 4.20am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police officers are in the early stages of their investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward so they can establish the circumstances around the man's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Mobberley, from the homicide team, said: "A young man has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time.

"We will leave no stone unturned in our enquiries as we try to establish what went on earlier this morning.

"I would urge anyone with information which will assist to get in touch as soon as possible."
