The 14-year-old boy was stabbed repeatedly just after 7pm on Tuesday, April 13, at Burbury Park, in Lozells.

He was taken to hospital where he continues to recover from his injuries.

Two 15-year-old boys were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder. One of the 15 year olds, who cannot be named due to his age, has now been charged and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday.

The other teenager has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Superintendent Sally Simpson, from West Midlands Police, said: “Our investigations into the incidents on Tuesday evening are continuing at pace and this is a significant step forward.

“We understand the shock and concern that these incidents have caused residents in the area and the wider community, and I wish to stress that we are determined to route out those who continue to cause harm to others.

“We continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward, particularly anyone who may be withholding information through a misguided sense of loyalty. We must all work together to reduce the violence we are seeing.”

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101.
