Teenage girl assaults shopping centre security guard

A teenage girl assaulted a security guard after the group she was with was refused entry to Halesowen's Cornbow Shopping Centre.

Police were called to the centre on Saturday, following reports of teenagers causing trouble.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to the Cornbow Centre, Halesowen, at 6pm on Saturday April 3 following reports of a disorder.

"It's understood a security guard was assaulted by a teenage girl, who kicked him after the group were refused entry.

"A number of teenagers were spoken to and our neighbourhood team are working to investigate the anti-social behaviour around the shopping centre.

"Anyone with information can contact us quoting crime reference number 20DY/95710Z/21."
