Officers conducted a drugs warrant at an industrial unit on Oak Lane in Kingswinford, on Thursday, April 1.

A makeshift cannabis factory consisting of around 600 plants was found inside the unit.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Once in custody it was discovered that he failed to appear at court in Nottingham last November on suspicion of assault.

Although there was insufficient evidence to charge him with cannabis cultivation, he was remanded in police custody to appear at court the following day in relation to the assault.
