Armed police responded to the 999 call

Armed police responded to a 999 call at 6.15pm on Tuesday and stopped the number 63 bus as it travelled along Bristol Road South in Birmingham.

It comes after reports of a woman being chased by someone armed with a knife nearby.

They spoke to three men on the bus’s top deck and arrested one on suspicion of knife possession.

Haatin Davis, from Little Hall Road in Nechells, was charged last night with possessing an offensive weapon in public and appeared in court today.

The 31-year-old was remanded into prison ahead of a Crown Court appearance.
