Officers from West Midlands Police made the arrest after seeing two boys brandishing a machete in Walsall.

The pair allegedly tried to flee after being spotted by the officers, discarding the knife as they ran.

Despite their attempts to escape, they were caught and arrested.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A couple of 15-year-olds were seen around Walsall brandishing a machete.

"When officers spotted them, they ran off, discarding this knife as they ran.

"They weren't as fast as our officers and so both have been arrested.

"They may be children but this thing will do serious harm."
