Police released a video showing two men on Farm Road on January 30.

A brick was thrown through a rear door window alerting the occupant who shouted at the men.

They ran to a black Mercedes and crashed into another car when driving away before trying to steal a registration plate from a similar car on the Harvest Road Spar shop car park.

West Midlands Police posted on Facebook saying: "Do you recognise these two men?

"We want to speak to them after an attempted robbery at 11.45am on Saturday 30 January on Farm Road, Rowley Regis.

"A brick was thrown through a rear door window alerting the occupant who shouted at the men.

"They ran to a black Mercedes and while driving away, collided with another car at the junction of Knowle Road.

"The pair then drove onto the car park of the Spar shop on Harvest Road and tried to steal a registration plate from a similar Mercedes vehicle on the car park.
