Second teenager charged over 16-year-old's stabbing in Walsall

A second teenager has been charged over the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy who was left seriously injured in Walsall.

The victim was stabbed in the stomach on Caldmore Road, Caldmore, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Last week Marshall Barnett, 18, of Redhouse Street, Walsall, was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife. He was remanded in custody after appearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Now a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a blade.

He has been remanded in police custody and was due before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

Walsall Police tweeted saying: "We've charged a second teenager over a knife attack in which a 16-year-old boy suffered a stab injury in Caldmore Road, Caldmore, Walsall last Wednesday.

"The 17-year-old is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a blade.

"He has been remanded in police custody and is due before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

"Marshall Barnett, 18, of Redhouse Street, Walsall, appeared before magistrates on Saturday to face the same charges and was remanded into prison ahead of his next court appearance."
