Officers investigating a series of indecent exposures in the West Midlands have made a second arrest.

A 46-year-old man, from Hodge Hill, Birmingham, was arrested on Monday evening in Babbs Mill Park.

He remained in police custody today on suspicion of indecent exposure.

West Midlands Police officers are investigating a series of indecent exposures across the Birmingham and Solihull areas.

A spokesman for the force said: “We would like to thank the resident who called us after spotting him in the park. Thanks to their call we attended and swiftly arrested the person in question.

“A man who was previously arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure has been eliminated from the enquiry. The 28-year-old will face no further police action.

“The community response to our appeal and the ongoing investigation has been fantastic. Both arrests have been made with the help of the local community and everyone who has contacted us with information.”

“We know that this type of crime can also go unreported, with victims feeling shocked, upset or embarrassed by what has happened. However, these are serious crimes. We need to ensure that we have as much information as possible on every incident that has taken place.

“Although the new arrest is a positive step forward our investigation continues. We’d like to encourage everyone to remain vigilant and if you have information and haven’t yet been in touch, please call us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can call West Midlands Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
