Murder arrest after man stabbed to death in Birmingham

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death this morning.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Perry Villa Drive, Birmingham, at around 3.50am on Tuesday.

A man was found with stab injuries to the neck and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The victim has not been formally identified at this early stage.

"A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody on suspicion of murder.

"Perry Villa Drive has been sealed off in order to preserve any potentially crucial evidence. Officers are currently conducting house to house and CCTV enquiries.

"We are appealing for witnesses and we are urging anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch as they may hold vital information."
