Video footage of the car being stolen in the Goldthorn Hill area of the city was posted on Facebook on Saturday and has since been shared widely online.

The video shows a man getting in the Audi next to the gates of a house before a white van parks up directly behind, blocking the car in.

Someone wearing dark clothing approaches, opens the door and attempts to pull the driver out.

A struggle breaks out next to the Audi as another person gets out of the van and joins in wrestling with the victim.

The van then starts to drive off and the victim then tries to open the Audi door without success.

He then tries ramming the door window with his arm but one of the carjackers comes back and forces him out of the way before the Audi is driven off.
