Alleged Dudley murderer in court over shooting

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Dudley shooting victim Mohammed Haroon Zeb.

Mr Zeb, known as Haroon, was shot in Queens Cross during the early hours of January 31, and later died from his injuries in hospital.

Hassan Tasleem was arrested by police on Wednesday and was charged with Mr Zeb's murder on Friday.

Tasleem, 23, of Richmond Road, Dudley, appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Friday and before the city's crown court today charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent.

He will next appear in court on April 23.

As part of the investigation, a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender last week, and three men – aged between 19 and 26 years old – were previously detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have all now been bailed.

A 37-year-old man who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.
