Murder suspect arrested on Black Country train line after man's body found

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in West Bromwich after a body was found in a house in Birmingham.

Officers found the man's body in a house in Holly Road, Handsworth, at about 9am on Sunday.

A 33-year-old suspect was arrested on train tracks near Wigmore Lane, West Bromwich, around 90 minutes later.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We've arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a body at a house in Handsworth.

"Officers were called to Holly Road at around 9am and found the body of a man who had been badly injured.

"At around 10.30am, a 33-year-old suspect was arrested a few miles away on train tracks near Wigmore Lane in West Bromwich.

"Detectives are trying to identify the man who has died."
