Woman threatened with claw-hammer in terrifying Tividale car-jacking

A woman was threatened with a claw hammer in a terrifying car-jacking in Sandwell.

The 40-year-old victim was thrown to the ground after being approached by the two men in City Road, in the Tividale area, at around 6.45pm on Wednesday.

They stole her green Mini Cooper, which was driven away towards the New Birmingham Road.

The woman did not suffer any injuries, but was left shaken by the ordeal.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating a car-jacking in City Road, in Tividale, at around 6.45pm on Wednesday.

"A woman, aged 40, was threatened with a claw-hammer and thrown to the ground after being approached by two men who grabbed her car keys.

"The racing green Mini Cooper, with black roof and wing mirrors, was driven away towards New Birmingham Road.

"Fortunately she did not suffer any injuries but was understandably very shaken by the incident.

"Our enquiries continue and we are urging anyone with information to contact us."
