'Good Samaritan' robs woman, 74, walking in the snow in Tipton

A 74-year-old woman was robbed of her purse in Tipton by a man offering to help her walk in the snow.

The woman was targeted by a 6ft white man, in his mid 20s, as she walked along Ridgeway Road at around 9.35am on Monday. The purse contained money.

The man was described as of slim build, wearing a black puffer jacket with a black and white scarf or face covering.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called after a woman in her 70s was robbed of her purse in Ridgeway Road, Tipton, at around 9.35am yesterday.

"It’s understood she was approached by a man who offered her assistance walking in the snow but then stole her purse containing cash.

"The robber is described as white, in their mid 20s, and around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black puffer jacket with a black and white scarf or face covering."
