Coaches in flames after arson attack in Walsall

Coaches were engulfed in flames after an arson attack at a Walsall-based coach firm.

Dramatic images captured the moment three coaches destroyed or severely damaged in the fire.

They were parked in the yard at Fastline Travel in Wednesbury Road, in Bescot.

Fire services were called to the scene at 8.20pm yesterday.

Police believe it was caused by an arson.

A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: "It was attended by both crews in Walsall which is 10 firefighters.

"The incident was in Wednesbury Road, Walsall, and involved three coaches. Two of them were destroyed while a third sustained superficial heat damage.

"It is believed to be arson." Four fighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to quell the flames.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating an arson at a coach compound in Wednesbury Road, Pleck which occurred last night sometime between 8:30pm and 9pm.

Anyone with information can call police on 101.

Fastline Travel declined to comment.
