The 16-year-old boy was stabbed at the city-centre station on Pipers Row at around 5.55pm on Saturday.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, according to police, who are treating the attack as a domestic incident.
Another 16-year-old boy made a failed getaway attempt and was arrested by officers who chased him down on foot.
The bus station was closed as a result of the stabbing, forcing buses to drop and collect passengers on Pipers Row.
The arrested suspect remains in custody and is being quizzed by detectives on suspicion of assault.
