Man hit by brick in robbery attempt near Cannock pub

A man was hit by a brick in an attempted robbery by four masked men behind a Cannock pub.

The terrifying attack happened near a wooded area on the field behind Mill Farm pub, Lichfield Road.

The brave victim refused to give up his mobile phone when threatened and suffered cut marks to his cheek in a scuffle which followed.

He was tended to by ambulance staff but did not go to hospital.

Staffordshire Police has now issued an appeal for information following the incident at 3.30pm on Sunday, July 31.

The four suspects, were white, aged in their mid-20s and had their faces covered.

The main attacker, who demanded the phone, was wearing a black Nike tracksuit, black Nike trainers, gloves, his hood pulled up and a black and white bandana around his face.

He had a local accent, was five ft 10 ins tall and had a broad build.

The other three were all wearing leisure clothing.
