Kenichi Phillips murder suspect named as public warned not to approach him

This key suspect in the murder of a teenager shot dead in a car was named by police today, as officers warned the public not to approach him.

Isaiah Wright-Young, 36, is wanted over the death of Kenichi Phillips, 18.

He was shot dead as he sat in a black Seat Leon on St Marks Crescent in the Ladywood area of Birmingham just before 7pm on March 17.

Today officers released a photo of Wright-Young, adding: "The public are urged not to approach Wright-Young if seen but to call 999 immediately."

Det Insp Jim Munro, from Force CID, said: "Two people have been charged in relation to the shooting of Kenichi Phillips on 17 March but this is investigation is still very active.

"It's important we locate Isaiah Wright-Young as soon as possible and I would urge anyone with any information about his whereabouts to contact us."

Speaking after his son's death, the father of Mr Phillips revealed that he was to become a father.

He said: "Kenichi was only 18-years-old. He was a great-grandson, a grandson, a cousin, nephew, brother, son and friend who was loved and will not get the chance to see his son born."

Post-mortem results revealed Mr Phillips died from a single gunshot wound.
