Arrests as boy, 15, airlifted to hospital following Alton Towers 'attack'

A boy aged 15 has been airlifted to hospital after reportedly being attacked at Alton Towers by a gang of teenagers.

The youngster, from Dudley, was left with facial injuries in the alleged assault at the Staffordshire theme park.

Four suspects, aged 13, 14, and two 15-year-olds, all from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police were called to the site just after 4pm yesterday by security staff.

The victim was airlifted to the Royal Derby Hospital and was today described as being in a stable condition.

Staffordshire Police said: "An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is now underway. Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 527 of June 16."
