Driver bitten and two arrested after car chase ends in three-vehicle smash

A car chase through Quarry Bank resulted in the driver being bitten by a police dog and two people arrested.

The car was pursued by police until it crashed into three vehicles in slow moving traffic in Powke Lane, Rowley Regis less than 20 minutes later.

One of the drivers was treated at the scene for a minor neck injury.

Two police vehicles were also damaged after being rammed by the VW Bora just after 1.30pm today.

The driver of the Bora and a passenger were arrested after a short footchase.

West Midlands Police spokesman, Craig Hughes, said: "Traffic officers have arrested two occupants of a vehicle which failed to stop after driving dangerously in Quarry Bank just after 1.30pm today.

"The driver of the Bora and a passenger were arrested after a short footchase. The driver was taken to hospital after being bitten by a police dog and another passenger is believed to have got away."
