Police chase stolen bus: Two plead guilty after vehicle taken from Tipton depot
Two men have pleaded guilty over the theft of a bus driven through the West Midlands and Staffordshire.
A third defendant has denied being involved and faces a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
A single-decker bus was stolen from Sandwell Vehicles Ltd depot, in Tinsley Street, Tipton, on Wednesday night.
It was spotted on the A41 at Albrighton at 2.50am yesterday morning.
It was driven through Wolverhampton before being stopped and abandoned in Southall Crescent, Coseley.
Peter Loveland, aged 39, from Dale Close, Tipton, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking. He was given conditional bail.
John Burton, aged 38, from Beaconsfield, Brookside, Telford, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
He was remanded in custody.
The third defendant, Thomas Tibbs, aged 20 of Clinic Drive, Lye, pleaded not guilty to aggravated vehicle taking.
All three will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 29 for a preliminary hearing.
