Glyn Evans, aged 56, was discovered with a fatal stab wound at an address in Walsall Road, Willenhall, on December 23.

Stella Downing, 37, of no fixed address, and Martin Stokes, 49, of St Giles Road, Willenhall, denied the charge when they appeared yesterday at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Both were remanded in custody until April 18, when they will appear back at the court.

A trial is likely to take place in June. Mr Evans was believed to have been squatting at the Walsall Road property when he was found dead just before Christmas last year.

He had been described through a statement released by the police as a 'family man' and 'much-loved brother'.

Willenhall councillor Carl Creaney, who had known Mr Evans for 20 years, described his death as a 'tragedy'.
