The 25-year-old from Blackwood Avenue, Wednesfield pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court to the manslaughter of neighbour Phillip Evans, aged 42.

The defendant was remanded in custody until March 29 when details of the case are expected to be given to the court.

Ryan will then be sentenced.

He was arrested from his home on Sunday October 11 after the body of Mr Evans had been found less than two hours earlier – around 5.50am – at another address in the same road.

Ryan was originally charged with murder in October last year.

A post mortem revealed Mr Evans died from head injuries.
