Tanveer Iqbal death: Schoolboy and man in court charged with murder

An Oldbury man and a teenager appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of Smethwick music shop owner Tanveer Iqbal.

Gul Nawaz, 43, and a 16-year-old Birmingham schoolboy are accused of murdering Mr Iqbal while a 17-year-old Birmingham girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

The trio made ther first appearance in front of Birmingham magistrates.

Nawaz, of Roway Lane, and the 16-year-old boy were remanded in custody ahead of a crown court hearing on Friday.

Magistrates remanded the teenage girl in local authority accommodation before the same hearing.

The two teenagers cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mr Iqbal's body was found in the boot of his car in Edgbaston earlier this month after he went missing on January 31.

Nawaz's wife Zatoon Bibi, 36, also of Roway Lane, Oldbury has already been charged with the murder of Mr Iqbal.

She is due to appear at the crown court on April 22.
