The pair, both aged 26, and from the Walsall area, were arrested on Thursday by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit.

West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page confirmed the men have been released on bail.

Another two men - aged 25 and 32 - who were detained on Tuesday also on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences, remain in police custody.

Officers were given an extra five days to question them.

After the arrests were made officers carried out searches at a number of addresses in the Walsall area associated with the suspects.

The force moved to reassure members of the public, stating the arrests were intelligence led and there was no immediate threat to public safety.
