Man injured and another arrested in Wolverhampton stabbing

A man is in hospital with knife wounds following an attack in a Wolverhampton street.

Police received a report of a stabbing in Merridale Road, Chapel Ash, late this afternoon.

The identity of the victim or the circumstances of the incident are not yet known. He is believed to have been stabbed more than once.

Officers sealed off an area around a bus stop, near the junction with Merridale Lane, while paramedics attended to him.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at 3.55pm to a report of a man with stab wounds in Merridale Road. He received treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital."
