An 18-year-old, who police confirmed was local, was stabbed in the back in broad daylight near Westbury Street and Broad Street.

Police revealed that he may have been stabbed in an ongoing row but are yet to arrest anyone and have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.

The teenager was seriously injured but remains stable in hospital.

The attack happened just after midday on Wednesday December 9.

Broad Street has been the scene of a series of incidents in recent years, with Wolves fan Tom Kirwan being stabbed to death next to the nearby canal basin in July 2012.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
