Birmingham shooting: Man arrested in Tividale on suspicion of murder

Police investigating a double shooting in Birmingham have arrested a man in Tividale on suspicion of murder.

The man, aged 33, from Birmingham, last night became the third person to be arrested in relation to the murder of Derek Junior Myers.

Two others are on bail while police continue their enquiries.

Mr Myers, aged 25, died after being shot in Soho Hill, Hockley, on Friday October 30.

A second man who was injured during the incident remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

DCI Caroline Marsh, who is leading the investigation, said: "My team of detectives continue to sift through information to identify those who were involved in this incident.

"A man has lost his life and another remains critical in hospital and we would continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and contact us.

"If you were there or have been told anything about what happened, please get in touch."
