Birmingham pair charged with terrorism offences

Two men from Birmingham have been charged with terrorism offences.

The pair have today been charged on suspicion of distributing a terrorist publication (contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006).

Humza Ali, 19 from Ward End and Ali Akbar Zeb, 19, from Washwood Heath have been charged and released on police bail with strict conditions.

They are due to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court on November 2.

Zeb was arrested on August 4 along with another man - who was released without charge.

Ali was arrested on March 16 on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
