Man stabbed at Wolverhampton nightclub Faces

A man was stabbed and others were injured when a large fight flared at an R&B event at Wolverhampton nightclub Faces.

The victim, 22, was stabbed in the stomach at the club, which is opposite the city's main police station.

Police were called at 1.45am on Good Friday, and said today the victim remained in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A number of other people at the event were treated for minor injuries. The club shut early after the trouble.

Det Sgt Adam Keen, from Wolverhampton's violent crime team, said: "Officers responded to reports of a large fight at the club in the early hours of Good Friday. One man was seriously injured and enquiries are on-going to identify the individual responsible."
