Wanted: Suspect accused of car chase through streets of Tipton
This man was being hunted by police today following a car chase through Tipton which saw a motorist attacked.
Kirk Garner, 34, from Oldbury is wanted after a an Audi was driven at speed in chase of a silver Vauxhall Astra.
The driver is said to have rammed the Astra after it stopped at traffic lights, before dragging its driver out of the vehicle and attacking him on Birmingham New Road, at the Burnt Tree Island.
The victim managed to flee, but ran into the path of an oncoming car.
The 23-year-old needed hospital treatment as a result of the assault and suffered a broken ankle in the crash.
Dc Daniel Bailey said: "This was a particularly nasty attack.
"We believe at this stage that this was not a random attack and that he may have been targeted.
"Following our investigations we are now in a position to name Garner. Enquiries are on going and we continue to check known addresses for him.
It happened on December 5 at around 9pm.
"I would appeal to anyone who has any information of his whereabouts to call me or one of the team on 101."
