Roger Daker, who is 67, says he had abuse hurled at him by a gang of youths and ended up going to hospital with a suspected heart attack.

But he has criticised the police after they gave a caution to the youth who he believes was the worst offender.

Police confirmed they had cautioned a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old after a fence was damaged outside his house.

Mr Daker said he approached a gang who were hanging around outside his home before the drama occurred: "Me and my wife don't feel safe living here. There was a gang of about eight of them outside our house and they were going absolutely berserk.

"I'm gobsmacked to be honest. They are not protecting us at all. I'm disappointed with the law.

"I am very confused and angry about what this lad has done.

"I ended up in hospital with a suspected heart attack, and my wife is in a right state."

Sergeant Simon Bott, from Bilston East and Springvale Neighbourhood policing team, said the police were looking at putting an anti-social behaviour order on the two teenagers.

He said: "We take all calls of anti-social behaviour very seriously and are working with all parties concerned to find a long term solution to the problem.

"We were called to a report of anti-social behaviour on April 16 which had resulted in a fence being damaged.

"Two teenagers aged 13 and 17 were arrested in connection with the damage and it was deemed that in this case it was appropriate to issue a caution for the offence.

"The local neighbourhood team have been dealing with this incident as a priority.

"We have increased our patrols and have installed a temporary CCTV camera to capture any further offences."

"However, this is not the end of our work and we are now in consultation with our partners and are considering a case for anti-social behaviour orders to be placed.

"We do not underestimate the impact that anti-social behaviour can have on people and their communities and would encourage anyone who is affected by ASB to call me or one of my team on 101."
