Wolverhampton thug punched his partner in front of children and attacked bystander
He punched his partner in front of their children in the street and attacked an innocent bystander at a metro stop before dragging her across the tracks and threatening to kill her.
Scott Lockley of Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton, will serve just four months in jail for two vicious attacks on two women.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how the lorry driver had downed eight cans of lager at a family barbecue on June 18 before getting into a drunken row with his girlfriend.
It escalated with him delivering punches to her head with both fists as his children aged four and eight years old watched on in fear.
So shocking was the 29-year-old thug's actions that an unknown van driver stopped his vehicle and came to the aid of Lockley's partner in Wallace Road, Bradley.
He confronted the attacker, leaving him with a bloodied nose before shouting at Lockley 'how do you like it?' as he drove away.
Mr Mark Rees, prosecuting, said: "Police were called. The defendant has then walked along the metro track toward Loxdale Station. At around 8.30pm a 23-year-old woman was waiting at the stop. She saw the defendant approaching her and she says she said to him 'what are you doing? You're scaring me.' He approached the woman and punched her to the head."
Lockley then pinned the victim up against an advert boarding using his forearm on her neck and began shouting at her. Mr Rees then described how Lockley dragged the woman across the tracks, held her, stroked her cheek and told her 'if you move I will kill you'.
Police arrived and Lockley had to be CS gassed to be restrained. He was arrested and during police interviews claimed he 'couldn't remember' what had happened.
Mr Patrick Currie, defending, said: "Mr Lockley is a lorry driver and due to his profession he doesn't drink often. On this occasion he simply consumed too much. He can't recall much of the incident."
Lockley cried throughout the hearing as details of his attack was read out in court.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of assault occasioning actual by harm.
Recorder Mr John Edwards jailed Lockley for eight months but told him he will serve half before being let out on licence.
