Cannabis plants worth £80,000 found in Dudley house
More than 100 cannabis plants with a street value of £80,000 were discovered inside a house in Dudley by police officers on a routine patrol.
Officers came across the drugs while patrolling the Priory estate.
They were out warning residents they could be targeted by thieves if they left doors and windows unsecure during warm weather.
After noticing windows were open and the door unlocked at a semi-detached house, in Forest Road, officers searched the home over fears for the safety of the homeowner.
However they soon discovered a cannabis factory set up inside yesterday lunchtime. Residents had described a strong smell of cannabis.
Pc Shaun Lyle thanked residents for their co-operation. "We want to show that this type of crime will not be tolerated," he said. A man was arrested and is helping police with enquiries.
