Wolverhampton-based voluntary, community and social enterprise groups working in the community to overcome problems arising from deprivation, poverty, disability and lack of opportunity are invited to apply for grants of between £250 and £500.

Individuals can also apply for funds, which have been made available through a new initiative involving Wolverhampton's four Rotary clubs – Bilston, Tettenhall, Wednesfield and the City of Wolverhampton – and the James Beattie Trust.

Brian Bailey, from the City of Wolverhampton Rotary Club, said: "We are grateful to the James Beattie Trust for its generous donation to add to our contribution.

"There are many deserving good causes in Wolverhampton and I urge them to apply by visiting our web site."

Visit rotaryclubwolverhampton.co.uk/rotary-in-wolverhampton-community-fund-scheme/ for an application form and details on how to apply.

Applications must be submitted by October 9.
