The coffee shop opened on a site off Pedmore Road in Central Way on Thursday, with the first 100 customers receiving gift bags.

Every 50th customer served on opening day received a hamper full of Starbucks goodies.

Snow White was also there supported by local theatre group Once Upon A Time UK.

The Starbucks Merry Hill team will be accepting school uniform donations throughout September, which will then be distributed to several schools in the area.

Jonathan Poole, centre manager at Merry Hill, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Starbucks drive thru concept at Merry Hill, and it’s great to see that supporting the local community will be a huge focus as well.

“Following an influx of more than 10 new store openings in 2021, the arrival of Starbucks latest drive thru underpins our performance and resilience this year, as we continue to invest in the centre and attract the very best brands for our visitors to enjoy.

“Looking ahead, we will be sharing even more exciting news with our visitors soon, and with the multi-million-pound investment transformation of the centre exterior due to be completed soon, the future continues to look bright for Merry Hill.”

Mark Goule, Merry Hill store manager, added: “We are excited to open our new store in Merry Hill and become a part of the local community. The team are closely following the latest guidance from both the government and health authorities to keep everyone safe.”

The new drive-thru will be open daily from 6am to 10pm.
