NACRO staff are trained to equip young people with skills that will help them find work

NACRO centres in Sandwell and Walsall offer personalised study programmes and vocational courses for young people to help them move on to further education, training or employment.

Its classrooms are small which allows more support for individual students to achieve their goals, and the charity partners with employers to ensure students are enthusiastic, work ready and reliable.

The programmes are designed to match the employment needs of the local area and provide young people with the confidence and motivation to apply for jobs, apprenticeships or further education that can lead to better futures.

NACRO also matches students with local employers so that they gain valuable experience in the workplace through our work placement scheme.

Black Country Ladder co-ordinator Anne Moore said: "The Ladder is proud to support this work.

"NACRO are a provider that works with the harder to reach young people in the Black Country; those who have been excluded and missed large chunks of their education and with those who have special educational needs that, for what ever reason, have not been picked up at school and who have been classed as disruptive.

"NACRO also offer support for young parent; helping them to understand the role of a parent, building skills and confidence to care for their child and offering support for young parents to gain or improve their education and employability skills.

The charity has more than 50 years’ experience of changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime.

The Ladder for the Black Country campaign aims to help people take the first step up the rungs to successful careers by opening the doors to a new stream of apprenticeship opportunities.
