Anna Barton from Canalside Farm Shop & Cafe is promoting a competition for one lucky person to win a hamper full of local produce

Canalside Farm in Great Haywood is running a prize draw which will see someone receive a hamper full of local produce, as well as helping people celebrate the day with special food and drink deals.

The hamper, which includes heart-shaped shortbread biscuits, chocolates and a bottle of pink Prosecco, is on offer for anyone who is nominated by a member of the public.

Anna Barton, co-owner of Canalside, said the draw was a way for people unable to see family and friends to show someone they were thinking of them.

She said: "We realised that during these difficult times a lot of people haven’t seen their family and friends for quite some time.

"So we thought what better way to show someone you’re thinking of them at the moment than to give a fabulous hamper.

"People can nominate anyone they think deserves the prize, so it could be a teacher who you think deserves a treat or an NHS worker that you would like to thank.

"All you have to do is simply email us and tell us why and we will do the rest."

The farm will also be selling its traditional Valentine's Day afternoon teas as a takeaway service and will be doing a dine-in box service for people to pre-order and pick up.

Mrs Barton said the boxes, which will contain a meal for two with steak or chicken and a dessert, were another way to make the day special for people, even if they weren't celebrating Valentine's Day.

She said: "It's something to treat yourself with and give a boost to your mood at such a difficult time.

"Our message to everyone is to share the love, make sure everyone is ok and just be kind to each other and we hope our little gifts can help light up your day."

To nominate someone for the hamper, e-mail shop@canalsidefarm.co.uk with details of the person you’d like to suggest.
