Body found in South Staffordshire brook in search for missing man
A body has been found in the search for missing 70-year-old South Staffordshire man Steven Davis.
Specialist teams from Staffordshire Police had been searching around Smestow Brook in Swindon since Sunday (March 2) after a report of concern for his welfare.
They used specialist technology and resources and discovered a body from the brook on Thursday evening (March 6). Formal identification is yet to take place, but officers believe it is missing man Steven.
A police spokesman said: "His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
"Our thoughts remain with his friends, family and loved ones."
