Great Barr rescue: Firefighters recovering 4x4 from waterway

A rescue effort was launched by fire crews to recover a 4x4 that was found upside down in a Great Barr waterway.

Firefighters were called out just after 2.15pm to reports of a vehicle in the River Tame off Ray Hall Lane.

Crews from the town and the water support team from Wednesbury and Perry Barr attended.

They recovered the vehicle by winching it out of the water.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said the incident had been dealt with by 4.26pm.

West Bromwich station commander, Andrew Rainey, confirmed on Twitter no-one was found inside the vehicle.
