Oldbury pensioner killed in Wolverhampton Road crash

A pensioner has been killed in a crash on the busy Wolverhampton Road in Sandwell.

Ted Harris' silver Honda Jazz collided with a silver Audi S4 at the junction of Castle Road East.

The 85-year-old from Oldbury died from his injuries late last night after the crash, which happened on Saturday evening just after 7pm.

The Audi driver was left with minor injuries did not need hospital treatment.

The road was shut today while reconstruction work was carried out, and officers are appealing for information.

Sgt Steve Newbury, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along the dual carriageway at the time of the collision and saw what happened.

"Our thoughts remain with Mr Harris's family as they come to terms with his loss."
