Police have confirmed that a man thought to have been killed outside a West Bromwich pub in fact died of natural causes.

The victim, named locally as Dean Fletcher, died after an alleged disorder outside The Queen Head pub, in Church Lane, on February 5.

An initial post-mortem proved inconclusive.

However, a second post-mortem has led police to no longer be treating Mr Fletcher's death as suspicious.

West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said: "He is believed to have died of natural causes and we are no longer treating it as suspicious."

A file has been passed to the coroner.

Mr Page said a 46-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and later bailed will face no further action.
