The Abbey Hotel in Bearwood is due to shut at the end of this month after being sold.

But regulars have refused to give up on their local with hundreds joining the campaign to keep it open in little more than a week.

The pub's owner Stonegate has confirmed a bid for the pub from an unnamed party had been accepted.

The announcement means the Abbey is the latest Bearwood pub to face the axe after the Thimblemill was demolished to make way for a care home.
