West Midlands Police were called on December 14 and 31, and again on January 6 after break-ins at SB Waste on Sutherland Avenue, near East Park, where computers, tools and diesel were taken.

Just around the corner, Martini Tyres on Hickman Avenue was targeted on December 9, with a small amount of cash taken, and thieves revisited the premises on January 10 and tried to steal tyres.

Bosses at both factories say they believe they have been targeted by the same group of thieves. One of them has resorted to sleeping at the premises in an effort to stop the thieves.

Stephanie Broadley, director at SB Waste, said: "The fact it is in such a close proximity, its highly likely they are the same people.

"Its having a real detrimental effect on us. After the Christmas break, one of our drivers returned to find his diesel tank completely emptied."

Mike Cox, director at Martini Tyres, said he wanted the thieves to be caught as he is worried they will come back and try to steal goods once again.

"The worrying thing for us is that we don't know when they're next going to come back," he said.

"We had to sleep there for two nights, after the second break in on the Sunday night and then on Monday night."

CCTV images show two suspects captured on camera.

West Midlands Police are investigating three reports of burglary at SB Waste, and two at Martini Tyres.

A statement from the police on the break-ins at Martini Tyres said: "Police were called to Martini Tyres, Hickman Avenue, Wolverhampton at around 11.45pm on 10 January following reports that the premises were being burgled.

"Officers arrived within four minutes where it was discovered that thieves had tried to break in through the sky light and had attempted to steal tyres.

"It appears they were disturbed and had made off from the area prior to police arrival.

"Forensic examinations of the site took place and officers continue to investigate the burglary.

"On 9 December just before midnight officers were called to the premises following reports that intruders were inside.

"The thieves had gained access through the roof and had stolen a small amount of cash.

"No arrests have been made and inquiries continue." Police have not said if the raids are being linked.
